Aarea of application:

SheaButter by CristinenMoor® provides both care and protection for face and body. Pure shea butter supports the elasticity of the skin tissue, protects the skin from drying out, provides moisture and accelerates the healing of superficial skin irritations and injuries. Pure shea butter is gentle care for the delicate skin on the face, neck and décolleté and pleasant as a lubricant for massages

Pure shea butter can be used as a lip balm, for dry nasal mucous membranes, for care during pregnancy to avoid stretch marks, or for daily care, especially for dry areas such as elbows, heels, hands and shins. With a natural sun protection factor of 4, shea butter absorbs only limited UV rays and can be applied when sunbathing.

Pure shea butter from the CristinenMoor® brand is imported from Ghana and comes from controlled organic cultivation. Its melting range is 35 - 42 °C, so it feels buttery soft on the skin and is quickly absorbed. The special thing about pure shea butter is its high proportion of unsaponifiable components, so it keeps well and does not spoil as quickly as other fats and oils, even in tropical heat. Pure shea butter has natural vitamin E and a high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids such as oleic and linolenic acid.

Note: Pure shea butter is a natural product with a melting range that is at body temperature. Not a cream in the traditional sense, shea butter is a pure fat that is solid at room temperature. In direct sunlight, shea butter becomes liquid in its pure form, but it is very hard in wintry temperatures. However, temperature fluctuations do not affect the quality of the product. It should be stored at room temperature (20° - 25°C).

The use of shea butter is very versatile, skin care is essentially based on the application:

  • Against skin aging - shea butter tightens the skin.
  • Against dry skin - the delicate skin on the face, neck and décolleté in particular responds to the gentle shea butter.
  • For hands and fingernails after exposure and cleaning
  • Has a calming and smoothing effect on scaly skin, e.g. B on the head, knees and elbows.
  • Makes cracked, calloused skin on your feet supple again.
  • Protects with its natural sun protection factor 4 when sunbathing and cares for the skin afterwards.
  • After visiting the solarium.
  • Shea butter is also very pleasant as a lubricant for massages, especially for foot massages.
  • People with neurodermatitis/psoriasis can benefit from the caring properties of shea butter - but should clarify its use with their dermatologist.
  • Shea butter is also suitable for animals, for example for the care of dogs: It protects the sensitive paws of the dogs, especially in winter when the road salt on the street attacks the paws.

Details on the most important ingredients:

Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter),
Facts about Shea Butter:

From a botanical point of view, the fruits of the shea nut tree are berries. The 4 cm large fruit kernels they contain, the karité nuts, contain around 50% fat and are an important source of edible and skin care fat. The pulp is eaten.
The production is tedious; Women and children collect the nutty fruits and dry them. Then they are painstakingly crushed in a mortar and then ground again between stones. This mass is heated with water. The light fat will float, and when it cools you can skim off the shea butter.

Its melting range is 35 to 42 °C, so it absorbs quickly into the skin without leaving a greasy feeling. It is light yellow in color and has a distinctive earthy, chocolatey nutty and buttery odor. It is therefore also used as a substitute fat for cocoa butter in chocolate production. Shea butter has the advantage that no gray streaks form on the surface of the chocolate when the temperature fluctuates during storage.
In its pure state, shea butter can be kept for up to 4 years, even in tropical heat. The special thing about shea butter is the high proportion of unsaponifiable components (about 75% triterpenes, as well as oleic acid, triterpene alcohols, vitamin E, beta-carotene and allantoin), the proportion is between 8-11% - compared to avocado oil 6% , sesame oil 1.5%, olive oil 1.2%. Shea butter mainly contains long-chain, unsaturated fatty acids, the main components are oleic acid (40-55%), stearic acid (35-45%), linolenic acid (3-8%) and palmitic acid (3-7%).
However, shea butter is often refined for export: the resulting fat is odourless, tough and white in colour. The ingredient beta-carotene (yellow color) is lost in the process, further investigations into lost ingredients are not known.

Shea Butter branded CristinenMoor® is both refined and raw (untreated) goods from controlled organic cultivation. It is imported from Ghana. We obtain the raw shea butter exclusively from one manufacturer. Payment is made through fair trade. The raw untreated shea butter is yellowish and still contains vitamin A.
